Cycling was something that I did quite a lot in my 10-age years, until I discovered motorbikes and girls…

From my 30’s till mid 40’s I still owned a road bike, however I did not use it much. It was corona and Damen Yachting that changed that all……

In 2020 Fraser Gow and his crew were at the yard for longer than expected and they started cycling. Pumped up my empty tires and asked if I could join them and not long before it turned into a 2 days per week event.

Not long before I found back my old hobby and got addicted again. Bought new gear, joined Strava and started making kilometres. Any ride I can take I will. With crew, friends, colleagues.. training, training, training.

It was Damen Yachting that gave me this wonderful opportunity to join the L2M ride. A once in a lifetime opportunity and I feel special that I was invited. It motivates me even more to train harder and harder that the ride is for a good cause.

Living in Zeeland surrounded by the Sea all my life makes me aware how important it is to keep our waters in good shape. They are beautiful and all of us should do their hardest to keep these that way and repair where human kind has already destroyed so much.

I know I will have to go beyond limits to make it to Monaco, I hope this motivates others to go beyond limits and preserve this planet for the future.
