This year, due to COVID-19, we were forced to postpone London to Monaco. In it’s place, a group of 50 L2M riders and five teams took to the streets of their local areas to ride the 1,033 km distance to Monaco in September.

The riders were tracked using Strava, and we followed their progress with a live leaderboard. We tracked everything, from the riders climb per day, to how long each of their rides were, armed with this data, we awarded prizes from our wonderful sponsors for the best performers (KENZO, Le Col, Reef Knots, Climpson & Son’s, Just Pedal).

We checked in with our riders via Zoom for coffee breaks, and we got together on Zwift to virtually to ride Mont Ventoux.

We pushed the boundaries of what a virtual cycling event can be to make sure our riders could have a semblance of the L2M experience.

Having raised over £20,000 thanks to the riders fundraising, this event was a resounding success.

Fear not, 2021’s edition will be the physical London to Monaco we all know and love.
