2019

BLUE launched the fourth London to Monaco cycle ride this September, 105 riders and our corporate sponsors together raised an enormous total of £680,000 exceeding our biggest target to date of £500,000.

66 riders received a royal send-off from Princess Eugenie and James Blunt at Windsor Great Park. The riders took on 900km over eight days, across three countries to arrive in Monaco on the eve of the Monaco Yacht Show at the Oceanographic Museum. Along the way they were joined by riders from the Netherlands, Spain and Ireland.

“I challenged myself to do something beyond my expectations. There were moments of exhaustion and moments of euphoria, both physically and mentally challenging. What really spurred me on to cycle the extra mile was the team alongside me and doing it for BLUE. Arriving in to Monaco, elated, with everyone else after completing an epic challenge was the most team building experience I’ve had in many years. I enjoyed it so much I’m going to do it again next year to celebrate BLUE’s 10th year anniversary and 5th year of the London to Monaco ride! and steadfast ocean cycling warriors and event sponsors have helped raise nearly £1 million for marine conservation projects around the world resulting in huge conservation gains in areas BLUE is working.” -

This year’s funds will support five of BLUE’s projects: Ascension, Maldives, Cyprus, Patagonia, Azerbaijan, and Namibia.

The BLUE team took to the pedals again in 2018 including: Adrian Gahan, Morven Robertson and of course SJ Skinner.
